About the event
As summertime winds down, we invite you to celebrate the season with an outdoor picnic and water bottle rocketry! This casual event is open to everyone - volunteers, students, families, donors, and friends of TSoG. In addition to enjoying lunch, we will be building water bottle rockets to demonstrate the principles of aerodynamics and propulsion. We look forward to celebrating the end of summer with you and launching some rockets!
Admission is free, but registration is required. Picnic food and refreshments are provided. Lawn chairs or blankets are recommended. We will be at the Pavillion near the Playground and will launch rockets in the adjacent open field. As an outdoor event, we will be monitoring the weather and will cancel if unsafe or stormy conditions are expected.
Parking is easily accessible along Lookout Drive just south of the playground area. Water bottle rocketry uses only pressurized water bottles to create thrust, and we will abide by the necessary safety measures to ensure a safe and enjoyable experience for all attendees.
