“The most exciting phrase to hear in science, the one that heralds new discoveries, is not ‘Eureka!’ (I found it!) but ‘That’s funny…'” This quote, often attributed to biochemist and prolific science fiction author Isaac Asimov, reminds us that it’s often the littlest observations that lead to the greatest discoveries. Those little observations can serve as the jumping-off point for the most ground-breaking research – just like Isaac Newton and his apple, or Alexander Fleming and his moldy bread.
Jumping-off Point was a pilot series from the early days of TSoG.tv, back when Dr. Foland envisioned the primary focus to be on pre-recorded videos rather than live streams. The premise of this show eventually evolved into his weekly Office Hours live-streams, including the focus on weird scientific happenings from the world of Reddit.
