• Summer Biomedical Electronics Experience (SBEE)

  • The Summer Biomedical Electronics Experience is an engaging, college-level program designed to provide high school students with the knowledge and skills needed to make an informed decision about a career in biomedical engineering. Students can expect full immersion in an academic biomedical engineering environment surrounded by peers, instructors, and researchers. Hands-on activities and guided instruction will give a clear understanding of the fundamentals of this exciting field.

    Throughout the course of this two-week program, students will interact directly with concepts, tools, and technologies such as:

    • Bio-electrical signals (EKG, EMG and EEG)
    • Prosthetics
    • Mechanical CAD and 3D Printing
    • Sensor design and calibration
    • Microcontroller Programming

    The Summer Biomedical Electronics Experience (SBEE 2018) is a two-week curriculum held weekdays from 9am – 4pm at Southern Methodist University from July 23rd - August 3rd.  

    $750 tuition

    Applications must be received no later than April 20th, 2018. Deadline Extended to April 25th. Applicants will be notified of their acceptance status by May 1st.
